Production Update

Not much to declare cuz I'm a useless director who is a bum.

And I realised that I REALLY haven't been touching mysoftware lately... I keep getting confused on hot keys (esp when I'm a hotkey person) and I keep pressin the wrong stuff.

Non-the-less... I wrestled with remembering maya and started on the doggi-creature thing.

The colours are just for me to identify the parts better and has nothing to do with the model lol..

It IS actually kinda disturbing that it looks liek a reindeer. The figure is supposed to look more blocky but I decided to do it this way cuz I wanted to get some geometry out first. Come on.. give me a pat on the back for not tracing anything out and modelling this out of a box and imagination/reference to papers.
Workin on some waterfall thingy now... hmm Photoshop's save for web thingy is real handy but the colour reproduction really sucks bigtime....

Oh well.. No final renders anyway lol... We'll be havin an FYP blog up soon anyway. (The good stuff will be there =) )

Autodesk combustion... it's like probably the most affordable software for compositing? (not like aft effects... like pure compositing) and yet it EATS YOUR RAMN LIKE SHITZ.

Gosh... My mac book pro is just dying as I render particles and HENCE i have time to blog.

And here we see keyed out screen shots of claudia, my partner in crime... Sigh We just simply encountered too many technical faults to be learning anything...

And while I'm at it,since rendering my smoke test will take an hour AND it's due tomorrow afternoon, I'll just ramble about some anime manga that I'm totally into right now.

I stumbled upon in on VEOH and Onemanga and it's a real Diamond in the rough.
Way better than expected and its pacing, story telling and tension pulls and releases are snappy and appropriate. I usually Just read the manga and skip the anime due to my lack of faith in the anime quality but I MUST say. For this case. there are lotsa differences but a great adaptation with all the information given at the end. GOOD JOB!

Oh and Youtube has it too ... lol (like everything else!)

I'm sick

Alright I did say that I was going to start updating my blog more often..

So I lied... lol.

Wel it's not that I don't want to, it's that I don't have the time to and now that I'm sick and dying, I'll just write a ramble.
(Ok i'm not that sick... It's an excuse to stop working)

My modelling is a disgrace considering my so called "art background" and I'm feeling so irritated that I should be putting more ime into it but oh well.

It seems like we're definitely getting a clearer picture of things these days and I've drafted the first 8 weeks of our production schedule and the next meeting is due soon.

Well this is one of the key turning points of our design looks and its really great.
A little incomprehensible but WE WILL SURVIVE LADIES lol.

Hope to see more good stuff. I need to get back into an old habit of jotting down my dreams and weird quotes.

I'll probably learn from PINGAPONG! and keep a note pad beside me to jot my thoughts when I wake.... OR.... i can just freakin try to go back to sleep. lol

An unfortunate day

Howdy folks.. havent blgged in awhile.. I'm now in Vancouver BC studyig in Emily carr.... and the ice and snow is finally melting.. TO begin with ice and snow is rare here and this has been teh heaviest in 40 years!!!

Okok.. I'd like to upload photos but havent really done my editing so it'll take time...

Before that I'd like to talk about our unfortunate day....

The morning started with us trying and un familiar round to school.. Well it was essentially the same route ome but on the other side so we thought why not...
Turns out we had to walk 2 streets past several blocks just to navigate our way to the right bus stop (god knows why the busses dont follow the same way) and we were finally on our way.,

Coming home it started to rain.. it was about 5? but was already pitched black.
So here we were in the rain and we thought hey.. lets go to the dollar store on the way back to get some cups and tupper ware for food packing etc....

the bus system works here by timing. meaning... you pay for the ticket ($2.5 CAD) and u can board any bus or train for the next 1.5- 2 hours.

Normally we'd have an hour to spare by the time we're home so we could drop by the store and get something and simply hop back on....

Today we waited forever and when the bus came it was jam packed..
Or ticket lasted till 648pm and by 530 we thought. hey... forget about the tupper ware... we;re starving and I need to cook... But at 545 it was pretty near our place already so we though.. hey! An hour to go.. why not?. So we conveniently mised our own bus stop at 33rd ave and moved on to 45th ave for our stuff... and as we got closer i checked the time again...

545... pleanty of time....

Wait.... 545??....

OMG..... my watch's dail was out so the time stop ticking... must have been hooked onto my coat in the crowd... Ok... still not so bad.. I whip out my phone and its GASP... 630!!!... 18 Mins to go before our ticket expires.
We run across the street and wait....

18 minutes go by and we think.. what the heck... since the dollar store on 45th was closed and the bigger store is on 47th we'd just walk down to get our stuff since we had to pay anyway...

so we walk down 2 streets just to see the bus come in fornt of our faces in front of the dollar store and whoppee!! we hope on.. 648 exactly!....

Since we're hungry who care... suddenly there was an announcement " this is the last stop.. the bus will terminate at 41st to the garage....

everyone got off and now we're on 43rd ave.... ridiculous..

we walked up 2 streets to end up down 2 streets...

We've had enough.. we're WALKING HOME...

so finally dinner was done and all was well and i go.. where is my phone?!!

GOD.. this is worrying.... yiz tries to call me and we search the whole living room... suddenly we hear a vibration....
*bzzzzzz...bzzzzzzzz..*

it was neear the sofa... we literally flipped everything apart and went what the hell? why cant we find it... Turns out.. it's on my desk in my room (which shares the wall to my living room).. and we could hear the vibrations from tere.. lol...

It's been ages since I blogged. Maybe it's cuz I'm happy. Or haven't been emo. Or haven't been doing much work hence there isn't really anything to blog about.

Well it's sorta everything.

Animation seminar has been refreshing for me. An individual film to be created by either a team or alone. Not that I really mind but in the end I'm doing the project as an indi film.

Recently I've become closer and friendlier to animators whom I've never really been close to nor worked with before. It's completely brilliant to have a new direction in a sense of work style and it's always great to make a new friend.

Been ignoring my other blog which I was so enthusiastic about in the beginning.BUT as expected. Once school has resumed, I havent had much time to go shooting nor dining.

Things to do.

Gone were the glory days when I had the cockiness to slow down in a 2.4km run at the last min so I'd get my perfect Gold with everyone behind me failing to meet the mark.

Gone were the days where I could safely claim my prize money from the SAF just by spending some time running and doing "warm-ups".

It's final! haha I brought a digital watch that lasted fine all the way till 5 mins before the run. IT DIED. After which I thought what the heck. The new digital system would announce my timing. Then it rained.... Ok so I laid down to shut my eyes for 15 mins waiting for the rain and it's time to run! The aim of the day was at LEAST silver.... and I was on my way to getting it when the display of the machine BROKE DOWN and my 5th and 6th round was running without an aim. Fair enough if I had maintained a constant speed I would have gotten my silver easily. But NO!!!! I slacked! thinking the incentive cash was good enough and without the prompt of time... I've always made it clear that I hate men. Well in general I think they are all bastards. Myself included.
So when do you conclude how much of a bastard they are?
Is it truly by how they behave or act? Or whats inside.

I've seen my fair share of men and have lived to hate one to many, unable to truly befriend any other to a personal level.

Yet in that crowd of rubbish, I've managed to find a group of true arse holes who have proven with time that through all that external junk, they have real hearts of gold.

And its the heart that really counts.

Amazing how much effort it took me to find pictures of them even with some 16 years friendship. (cuz most of em are in hard copy lol)

BTW.... i still think men are bastards and don't trust them much. Lol (you guys are a minor exception) and I'm sure you guys would agree too.

I've just finally called up Kheng Hiang on my hall ap and realised that I did not make it.

Similarly my daily travels to the Singapore expo this week has made me realise that an hour of travel daily doesn't really hurt that bad. Guess I've just been too comfortable with everything being so close to me all the time that I wasn't used to the idea of distance traveling.

Besides, my love for hall has never been any better than a convenient over sized store room for my over nighters at ADM. I rarely hang out with the people there and no one seems to want me along anyway. The friendships seemed so superficial and disappointingly fragile. Non the less they were valuable memories and the friends that I have made would always be dear (whether they want me or not lol... )

Hall 6 has the typical sports, over competitive, culture keeping only those necessary to winning titles etc without much thought for others. Plus their upp class think they're the best ideas. I do not blame them because that simply helps maintain their reputations and titles. Nontheless the system is flawed and no one's to blame.

Guess I'll have to start bringing in my sleeping bag. If not, start to get excessively friendly with Jia's dad and move in .. hahah kiddin. Will miss..

I've had a relatively crappy day dealing(or rather facing) with some incidences apart from my own and wasn't really in the mood for anything except my nap before my continued studying.

First thing I step at the door, I see my clothes items moved. "WTF?" THen I open the door and here's what I see

CRAP!!! I've been ransacked! or A thief? Wierd.... I look around and realise every thing's a bloody mess but Nothing's missing.

After so much randomness recently, I've finally felt a surge of happiness and a glow in my life.

Well she looks amused! Hee

Results are out. I couldn't have predicted another outcome.

A Advanced Drawing (Poured my soul into plus good relations with Joan)
A Figurative Painting (Put it a ton of effort plus Great relations with Bridget)
A- Stop Motion animation (E last part of my life totally into it and Eileen's cool)
C+ Character Animation (Practically skipped half the classes doing cheer lead)
C+ Rigging (Totally Lost and 5 full days of crash coursing didn't work)
C- Asian Art Hist (Just Sibei Suay... Written assignment halfed etc)

Can't say I'm happy or sad cuz I predicted an almost exact outcome. I'm not happy with the grades, just prepared.

XXX did better with 2 dist and 4 b's but was brought to tears.
-"If aaa could get full distinctions why couldn't we?"

A fair enough statement, which I've been saying to myself for the past 2 years. Is this truly my limit? I've always been like that. Doing well at things I enjoy and messing around with the rest.

Maybe this time I shall really pour my soul equally and strive to pull up my grade to aim for the top.

Ammendments! Forgot to Credit the Artists Who drew the Drawings. Lol. (Cuz I wasnt sure who did em)
1st and 3rd are drawn by Wang Xun, 2nd I'm still not sure, 4th should be Hazel, 5th is my design redrawn by Ying Hol. and woala! I'm the colourist that has lots to learn. =)

Here are my first 5 digi paintings ever!!!!
well it's for Mark's proj and given the squeeze (about 3-4hrs max) per piece, I didn't manage to finish everything to my desired done'ness...

Nonetheless I'm reasonably satisfied cuz I finally took a chance at experimenting with digital paint so I literally took a couple hours to learn how to manage the brushes and tried a different technique with each piece. Rough but fun.

Well my life now seems more rough then usual anyway. I just can't say I totally regret anything.
Gonna meet Joanna for dinner tomorrow! whoo hoo! Havent seen her in ages.

I was watching Indiana Jones earlier and I must say everything was downright cheesy but I kinda enjoyed it! lol.... I remember taht he was one of my all time heroes as a kid but TOTALLY cannot remember a thing about the story (cuz i was too young) just that he was the coolest dude on earth! Which makes me take the cheese so much more easily lol.

Apart from that. I'm in a blank state now. I don't realy know what to feel but it's excruciating.

i've Survived...

It's finally the supposed end of a year in ADM.

However our extended deadlines have pushed our long awaited break to the 6th of may. However, with shooting covered, we can finally ease up and work at our own pace.

Thats my first crappy reel.

Well I'd love to upload DA'ren but he's still in the work in progress stage. so Id just put up a few more stills.

We so we scaled the roofs of ADM to recce for my master plan, laid down in a circle on the prickly grass, witnessed a shooting star and screamed "I SURVIVED YEAR 2"!! *smiles*

And since today was Eileen (our mentor's) BIRTHDAY!! we invited a special guest JIMMY!!!!!

We actually went there and sang her the "WEEEEEEE" version of happy birthday... hahah (I'll talk about it and upload another time) And bought her a Famous Amos cookie and 3 Roses!

Well, there's much to edit and though it's almost the end of a grueling sleepless and tedious project, the memories would stay (oh gosh I'm so sappy, sobs) forever Forever forever....

I finally submitted my Animation Reel and I'm still dying from Rigging... Havent even worked on Stop mo for the longest time eek!

DarRen must be so sad.

Oh well. Had to destress so I whipped out a pencil and pen (at ken's expense) and drew 2 pics.

The long awaited final for my advanced drawing turned out to be sort of a flop due to time constraints. Plus I spent the whole day re-editing my motion piece but apparently Joan was already happy with mmy thought progress and hence has a grade in mind even with my further additions. =.=

Well it's nothing fancy but I really wish I could expand on it.

After reading several blogs (includes my own cuz it reminds me of my thoughts back then) and listening to the lyrics of songs (cuz I normally only listen to tunes rather than words) Plus looking back at some other non related issues, I've come to that point in time again. A realization of slight jealousy. (Yes this breaks the rules of being a MAN!) But it is mild.

It's not so much an outright jealous issue. It's more like a I'm glad they can all change and be happy now. Just wondered why they were so unwilling to change back then and so happy to do so now.

I guess its just my way of handling things. Undeserving of reciprocation. Overly judgmental and
conclusive. I suck... (haha another judgment and conclusion!)

And this concludes one of my favourite classes of this semester.

The paintings are about 70-80% complete but submission is in order and they are more or less ready for the show.

Below are my final 4 paintings in chronological order. (supposed to be my best 4 as well)

Ad Drawing pt 2

Well I decided to work on my second project for advanced drawing and clear it asap hence I spent about half an hour clearing out an idea with photoshop and ran upstairs to work it out.

This is more or less my fav of the lot

I planned it to be roughly 4 seconds doing a head turn. However, my original plan of four drawings dropped to 3 cuz of 2 reasons.

I wanted the final product to look like this but gave up...

I got too engrossed drawing and working out the look of the 3rd that I think I'll wreck the entire piece if I layer a 4th on top.

So this is how it ended.

In anycase, it did not turn out how I wanted it to BUT... It's good enough as a 2nd piece for the final so i'll stop here. Time spent clocked from 12 midnight till 330 am now.

And yes it's going to be a stop mo again haha.

I bumped into Bridget (my foundation drawing and current mentor on figurative painting) a couple of minutes ago and these were the words she said.
"I think you should continue painting more. Cuz I think you're good. I have no idea why your other conceptual piece did not get chosen (for Best of ADM cuz it was reccomended by both Bridget and Joan (my advanced drawing mentor)) but I think you are one of the better ones and should not give up on that." "I mean I'm glad the others got chosen as well but not that they weren't good, but it's nice to hear a compliment every once in awhile =)"

The irony of the whole situation came from the words and situation of another person. Aunty Liyao.
"Martin (aka jackyoungblood, digi painting jedi!) asked me to send my piece for Best of ADM leh and I completely ignored him. Siao waste my time go and find it. I don't even know where I throw it liao." "Huh? Dean chose my portrait painting for Best of ADM? then this week what I use? Must redo ah? Huh... I'd rather he don't choose lo then no need to do more work."

Haha the best part of the whole scenario is that she left her portrait in my area where I stash my work so the dean thought it was mine and asked me about it.

Competition amongst fellow artists would always be there. However mutual respect and learning is even more important. Fair enough non of my works got chosen by the man himself, but hey, every artist has his or her time =)

I REALLY need to be spending more time on my other work. However, as usual I end up spending the most time on stuff that I like the most.

In any case... Here's what we've been doing

I was extraodinarily happy about the cactus cuz I had it in my design set sketches and wahla! Daiso sells it for 2 bucks....! Whew... Almost wasted time making my own clay models.!

And there's the star of the show! DaRen~! better known as "Da(4) Ren(2)" and his cat yiz.

Went out and spent 43 bucks on watching the play that won Adrian Pang best actor! haha.
The fact is tha all the actors were great and now we have formed an Adrian fan club lol.

And here are the fan members!

The dialogue was pretty harsh in terms of language but I guess it suited the set and scene. More importantly the humor was wicked and the amount of twists generated throughout are simply amazing.

Yeap It's all about GREEN SCREEN.....

Didn't sleep much cuz I finally finished watching Clannad last night... hur hur I'll review it next time lest I tempt yiz to lose sleep again haha.

Anyway I figured that Jiet and Min2 would need help with manpower (cuz I'm literally the only guy around) and plus I've really always wanted to learn how to do the green screen process.

Turns out that most of the equipment was really bulky or heavy hence I put up most of the lights and it was really cool.

And of course the kind beautiful wonderful mummy Jiet Sie treated Pizza~~ muahaha! Pizza de france some more.. yum...

Haha anyway even Eileen got into some of the fun and she kindly invited Mark Chevez down to oversee us... just in case...

Prep lasted for 2 full days and I even skipped some classes (but it's those ok classes)

Non the less everything went great!. Hur hur...

Karelin's distraction skills were power and JQ's ability to remain oblivious was amazing too haha..

The food wise was a disappointment to myself cuz it didn't taste like how I wanted it (too salty too etc etc) But yeah... hall pantry has it's limitations plus my time constraint and as usual most of my stuff was newly created from my imagination.

Well there's lots to Say about today. Firstly... since its passed midnight, Happy BIRTHDAY JIA QI!!

1. Went to Daiso to buy materials for stop mo but as usual my 'brilliant' luck says that they "zhoon zhoon" must today do stock take so closed....

2. Ended up wandering around the gigantic Giant, buying 99 bucks worth of groceries.

3. Spent the rest of the day prepping the food stuff till my fingers got soggy and peely.

4. FINALLY replaced my thumbdrive ( which went missing ) with a new toshiba 4gig one and my 2 gig SD card which corrupted for only 44 bucks in total!
(Challenger prices are great!)

5.Passed out on Hall anniversary (cuz it would only make me depressed to hang around people if they don't wish to hang around me).

6. Would have gotten more depressed to realize others got a cert of commendation for cheer lead when I myself probably gave my all (more then most) and received nothing. And though I was but a reserve, had no recognition for volleyball which won the championship.

7. However Wei Ee Msged me that she thought the video that I edited for the hall Anniversary was great which made me happy =)

Well it's not about the ego or whatever, it's about the appreciation of effort. Fair enough attention cannot be so easily shared it such a big community but still a simple word of encouragement such as the text from Wei Ee would have made my day.

Kawaii DOORothy was saying she'd feel sad if people forget to ask her to eat, and don't guys feel the same? My reply was. "I can't remember the last time someone approached me to go for lunch or dinner. It's more of a give up already."

And to those who know me, I hate to eat out alone hence my hermit life in hall.
Well all's not doom and gloom cuz happy things like Dajie's help today, preparing yummy food, me finally getting new stuff and Wei ee's msg just makes things better =)
Gosh... I'm so pansy these days... PMS is near... must be the final projects that are driving me mad.

Tenshi na konamaiki is the show that has got me hooked to lately.

The recurring joke is how the lead (who was a man than became a woman through a curse when she was 9) still wants to become the man of all men but has been living as the "woman of women" for th past 6 years and how all the guys are crazy over her though she still belives shes a he....(Confusing huh.)

I was surprised to find out it was a 2002 production and ended not long ago cuz the drawings looked antique to me. But I soon found out that it was done that way to maintain loyalty to the original style of the manga.

Ha...Funny how so many ppl like to come to me for advice on relationships and social problems. I always seem to have the answer (or try to provide one.) and I try to be as objective as possible yet when it comes to my own problems I can rarely find the right path myself. My conclusion is. I'm dead fickle.

Fickle about women, fickle about work, fickle about decisions, fickle about life.
AND HENCE! I shall learn from this anime and create a list of Must be's! on how to become the men of men! Haha.. (Who am I kiddin)

Non the less it'll be interesting to see what I ATTEMPT to resolute at.

Attached is the opening of episode 1. But youtube doesn't have all the episodes (50 in all) so crunchy roll is a better choice. Highly reccomended if you can survive the first few episodes. =)

Blogging is therapeutic. Its like talking to yourself. Voyeuristic by nature.
Yet information is not always true. Innuendos and subtle messages are constantly being posted mostly with the intention of hoping specific people would know what you want to say, yet so indirect are these messages that they almost seem like jokes.

Some say its for themselves but why post it when no part of you wants it to be read? Is there any purpose then when no one tags you to prove of your own existence?

My mum got a shelling from me when she called to ask where I am in an almost accusing tone of me forgetting about good friday and GOD (I apologize)... I was in class at 1030 pm. I start to wish that I didn't have to make such choices.
I got a somewhat threatening tone from the teacher when my phone beeped an sms at 8ish cuz I forgot to switch it to silent mode.
There is no deadline for God. But there is always a deadline for work.

I want to know how people can just keep running about happy and playing when there is so much to do. What I want to know more is what am I doing that makes me seem to be lagging further behind then those who do play.

What began as a joke of JeRmS exclaiming that he wants to quit school. Is turning more and more serious in meaning and reality.

It is because I know not where to turn to anymore. That I seek this voyeuristic refuge. It's just me seeking attention. Hoping to be answered but never sure.

I really am getting tired of all of this. I always say I miss everyone so much. No one probably misses me anyway.

Ok so my advanced drawing is finally settled...
And the video would be out soon. Joan wants to use it for her class as part of the "Best of ADM" thingy which kinda makes me feel proud that I actually did something that could be showcased.(at LAST)

Stop mo is on the way. Character design is almost finalized and ready to start.

Rigging is still in pieces and I need a life!

Well Here's the setup of my latest in painting en devours. I was literally carrying my wheel around school and everyone was like

"Hey JeRmS! Someone stole your bike or what?!"

Brilliant!! They totally got the meaning of the piece before even looking at it! Well not that my bike got stolen, but it's to reflect on the increasing crime rate in ADM. Tsk Tsk. God rest the soul of my poor missing stationary (and curse the bugger who stole it! hur Hur)

Bridget was like. "I'll need 8 paintings! Submitted at the end of the semester and I was like CRAP!!! Ive lost a mojority of mine!.
Well the hunting began and I recovered these two...

Prior to that i kept exclaiming "HEY! I lost my BANANA!"

OK so they aren't great. But consider how they were all completed within class hours I'm still satisfied with them =)

Today I felt like I did a lot! And that makes me happy esp since I cleaned my room (including the ceiling fan!!) and it feels so neat and tidy now! Whoo!

Anyway I was dead tired by 10pm earlier (cuz I worked quite a bit last night/morning) so I decided to sleep and wake at 6am to work again. HOWEVER as it seems my body clock has gone mad and hence I woke at 1'ish am and decided to go straight to sch and worked on my advanced drawing project till now (which is 5am)... And there I Find poor adorable little Peiling still there doing her presentation tom morn.

The sad life of an ADM (Always Do More) student.. lol.

More stuff missing and being the "animation rep" (who does nothing) I'm really getting irritated and am probably going to propose SEVERE punishments (Best is expulsion) on culprits caught. Anyway my memory card corrupted awhile ago and hence I decided to start from scratch again on my "Drawing stop mo piece".

Since I'm at it Might as well give a small amateur lesson on basic drawing and rendering.

1. When having 2 or more ppl/items, it's good to gauge the distance by placing their heads (which can be used as a unit of measurement) in the right position.

2. Start with a simple rough sketch (don't go crazy on detail from the start)

3. When happy, harden the lines (some choose to keep lines soft) for accuracy

4.Pick out main dark spots paying attention to negative spaces (gaps) and loosely darken.

5.Colour out highlights
6. Erase and go again!

Not a bad thing that I had to re-do cuz I get to tidy up certain unsure elements that I initially encountered.
And since the emphasis of this piece is motion and in this case stop motion animation is also present (Note I didn't post all the frames... too many)
Alot of detail could be left out.

Here's some of the works found around the Advanced drawing room.

I named the pics so ya... Not gonna bother labeling them again...
Well most of them are just class work, ranging from 1 min to 20 odd minutes so the quality can only go that far. Kinda fun though..

The one on the left belongs to George. Quite a promising year one student and it seems this is his 2nd ever painting. Roughly 1.5 metres by 1 metre in size. Pretty impressive I might add... I think he spent about 5 weeks on this.

The one of the right is some still life prob also by a year one (unkown)... It's ok... but Took it anyway since I was feeling trigger happy.

Above is my experiment with chinese Ink, charcoal and chalk. Think it was a 40 minute pose and the size is about 100cm x 80cm. Steph (our model) is charming as usual and zen (the other one) was... err intriguing haha... Never seen anyone that fat in the nude before. A good learning experience.

Finally.. Porh Kaerh!!! hahah.... This painting is tiny... A4? I think... And it's incomplete (haven't glazed) but I finally had a camera with me so i couldn't resist taking a pic.. haha... Really grown attached to this dino chicken haha.

GOSH! I've been blogging for 75 mins!!!(its 615am!).... All the stupid uploads take so long in hall. haha. Gotta zzz liaos... project meeting at 1130.. Like I said... sad life of the ADM'er hahah

Hee just when I thought the world is lost (or just myself), my brother of brothers Ben CHow gave me a call in the afternoon to ask me out and told me that he's quitting smoking!!!!! I literally told him.. "Bro you just made my day. This is the first official call that I've received without my initiation that isn't work related since God knows..." GOD works in mysterious ways!

Apart from that I had a belated lunch with my family to celebrate dad's bday and I bumped into LEON the muscle man at velocity and BOY HE'S even more lean and buff than before! And he's there to partake in the exhibition BOXING match!!!

Last but not least I went to remedy and put up banners in school with alex (who is actually my childhood aquaintance!) and bumped into Fiona Yeo (who still looks young and cute though she's my age! grr) at KFC when we were having dinner!!!!

Hee... seems like the world didn't disappear, I just needed to go out more. (when I find friends.. haha)

In ANY case...(haha recurring self joke from prev entry... GRINz..) here's an old piece of work...

Cultura Night

This year's cultural night was great. Apparently the largest ever in the history of all Halls so much that it got marked in a calendar or something.

Ben did a great job replacing me as well and everyone had a good laugh when he did a mock of Jacky Cheung.

ANYway.... I saw xxx. Lol... Was kinda a treat for me but nontheless that doesn't help the condition of (recently) emo JeRmS.

That's another story ANYway, haha...

Well of course I'd think I went there with no one and off course I thought big deal... even if I performed i probably didn't have any supporters. It is obvious that most of the crowd were cheering their lungs out in support of their friends and I don't exactly have the greatest of talent to be wowed at and to receive the praise and cheer from the guests, Nat Tan (who was great!) who HAD to sing THAT particular song which kinda adds to JeRmS emo'ness... Thankfully the other guests (who were f*^kin awesome!!!) David Tan and Jim totally brightened my evening with their spectacular voices.

Crap... Whats going on with me... Must be PMS(permanent male stress) again... The cravings.. the bloating.. the mood swings.... haha
Officially 3 people (and counting) have announced and told me that I'm skitzo (err dunno how to spell). And coming from the fact that they are my closest (or at least at some point of time) people to me, I'll believe that true friends don't lie (or at least harmful lies) so i'll take it as that.

Cheers folks. I really miss a good night of partying and drinking till I'm near gone... Unfortunately JeRmS motto to drinking is

Apologies for my previous emo post.... After load of sleep and stuff lotsa "anime" therapy I'm back to my own self.

I was tuning in to the radio on my way home to 'celebrate' my dad's birthday (happy birthday pops) when I heard that the A level results were out and that this year is the worst in history... or something like that.. So I was a little concerned...

And just as I arrived home, my mum told me that my sis was crying all afternoon cuz her results were not to par....

Oh well... I do believe in God and the bell curve so I guess she'd be fine and make it to a uni f sorts some how... I think it was along the lines of BCD or something... But if everyone's doing so badly I'm sure something will work out.

I have no idea why but I'm feeling like shit.

A leftover.. That's what I am.
My work is sub standard and I don't understand anything that Roxy says in rigging class.

My friend's from the past have all seemed to disappear and my current hall friends are non existant. My school friends are great but they seem more like working partners, you know, close but not like buddies, almost colleague feeling... (hope I don't offend anyone).

I had to be dropped out of cultural night simply cuz I can't attend the last 3 training sessions due to school work and I can't sell tickets cuz

1. I have no friends. (or related that would bother to go cultural night)
2. I'm too busy with work to actually go selling tickets.

Fair enough I should be supporting my own event that I WAS going to perform in. However mine was pretty much a last minute item otherwise I would just be a "buy one ticket in support" feller rather than the has to sell 10 tickets and without even being to sit back and enjoying the show..... Hence is it really right of them to be upset that I couldn't sell even though I tried?

Just as these thoughts passed by.. on how everyone I ask out seems busy and that no one actively looks for me to just.. you know chill? (though I doubt i can make it but I'll definitely try)

My neighbour walks over to my room door (just when i came back from sch at 1050pm! straight after class... such nice timing) and knocks asking to buy over booze from me.

Then the person he's drinking with asks me to treat them the vodka that they took....

1. Fair enough its duty free so that costs $26? it's half a bottle so that makes it 500ml but if you buy a 750 ml bottle from the store that's gonne cost ya at least 50 - 65 bucks... Even if the cost of the drink was cheap, the tickets to fly weren't.

2. I'd actually bring along the bottle and drink share it for free even... If they had the courtesy to ask me along for a drink and had some form of contribution as well...(mixers? tidbits?)

So as a friendly neighbour, how should I react? Charge them by the quantity left over? i.e 500 ml should = 30 bucks? or half bottle = 12 bucks. And thats giving them a nice convenience stall at my room without the joy and company of having a drink with them...

Sigh and to think I was just suggesting some of my class mates to come over for a drink...

Once again my lack of friends, despite my friendly outward appearance is making me depressed. Does no one treasure me or think of me in times other then when They have a use for me?

The two people who have really loved me have been chased away by me. I my self do not actively seek, simply cuz I find no love around and for me.

Ironically people in general look for me when they are depressed. I don't mind cuz I really do care. But I'd like to think that occasionally, one would like to look for me when they are happy as well..

Maybe it's just the excessive amount of commitments I have that lead to me not being able to ask anyone out.
Maybe it's just that everyone's just as busy.
Maybe I'm childish
Maybe I simply suck and no one really wants to know me.

Sigh I'm just ranting.

Many items I wished I could work on but this is sorta just a mini assignment (which was loads of fun) so we can't really afford to spend too much time on it...

Pix-are-Us...MISONINJA (mee-sooo-nin-ja!)

Thursday was like tiring but shiok!! Leaving hall at 930am and only reaching back into the comforts of my room at 1030pm (just to drop my equipment and run down to the JCRC room to collect the HO clips for editing and discussing with KH) then sorting out the shots into sequences and folders allowed me to sleep no earlier than 330am!!

Taking close to 2100 photos in one full day is a record even for a crazy amateur photographer like myself. Non the less it was a process that had to be done and even if all the shots were used (which is not possible after editing) that only translates to 175 secs which is roughly 2.9~3 mins.

It began mostly as a brain child of Dion and myself but everyone definitely played a major role from buying the cloth for costumes and set ups.

I'd like to log the day's efforts but that'll prob be too much... all I can say is that we totally skipped lunch and shot straight till dinner which started after 8 pm! But here's a short note on the day's plan non the less...

Morning - rush to clementi to get fabric and then to Yiz's place for to rush our costumes.

* note - All the girls think they're fat so we need to cover as much as possible! EXCEPT Hazel who's supposed to be our model and since she wasn't there at the making/design of costumes has no right to veto!

Late morning - Rush a cab down to Palawan beach for the 1st shoot.

* note - Since we're unsure of the end product, we'll take more beauty shots from Hazel so that we'll AT LEAST have something to show the audience.

Midday(late 3pm?) - End of ACT II . Planning of water scene.

*note - Yiz hopes to finish early so we can have some fun on the beach... Jessica shows us her super floating skills and... I need to rush back for capoeira Training.... zzz.

Sundown - Final shots are taken and we tried to squeeze in some opening titles using sand drawings.

*note - We were hungry as hell and I had to miss on training sobs... Decided to go for some swizz cheese and curry at some HK cafe at VIVO! (great recomendation from Dion)

Night - Accompany Yiz to her home to get stuff followed by my trip to hall to discuss on the hall end video... (SOBS>>> I HAVE NO LIFE>>>sorta...>>so we try to find life in work)

Been having a hell of a week with my isane schedules and this has been the only real break I've had this entire recess week.

I did a couple of portrait drawings earlier today in advanced drawing class but figured that it wasn't relevant to my concept and hence I ended up giving it to our model... (what was her name again? Happy early valentine?)

Well I just discovered that she's just a little girl that's about to grad from Temasek Poly. Well not really little but yeah and she's actually thinking of coming over to ADM to study as well lol... How odd, haha imagine a work study whereby all your classmates get to see you naked... Lol...

ULTIMATE GUTS!!!

In anycase, it's freakin' 521 am and I'm in the stop mo Lab playing around with "Porh kaerh"!

He's my baby dino birdy that was the ancestor of GODZILLA!.

He's kinda cute but skinless... and is sadly another last minute crap production (though I've kinda grown attached to the little feller) due to the lazy bones of Yours truly... the shitty artist.
Apart from that classes start at 9 am and I've still got tonns to work with...(The actual animating part)

My 'concerned' classmates used to bother themselves with things like me not able to submit my assignments on time... now they only bother about stuff like my hair and the hannah which was scribbled on my hand by Aunt M.

I swear I've never gotten so many... "WHAT happened to your hand!" comments ever! lol...Thanks non the less... hee

i just had my reunion dinner at home... it was Steam boat. Something which I don't pareticularly enjoy, but this year I think it tasted so much better.

Hmm.. Well it's gonna be a real rush for me since i've got assignments and all to rush.. But I guess it's all my on fault for procrastinating. So many ppl aren't free this year as well So I guess this short holiday will pass by in a flash.

Earlier Aunt M said that the next person she's gonna date has got to be a woman. Haha. Well I don't really know how to reply to such a statement but I definitely don't really encourage it.

Well everything seems so fleeting to me lately that I'm losing interest in a lot of things. Maybe If i get my cam fixed and go shooting with aunt M will my interest in things come back.

Think i'll write more next time lest I start to spiral down the emo road.

I finally Completed a small tiny part of what little work my little brain could handle. But there's still my overdue stuff to handle (includes the auscham stuff) and my project which i'll do when I wake up.

The dude's supposed to be shy. I didn't do the rigging, just the posing. But I hope I got my message through.

The next thing I'm gonna rant on about is on PORN... Yes.. controversial but it will be my short topic. I always wondered.... How the hell do those Japanese producers manage to convince so many young and HOT chicks into doing it? Is the dough really that good? Or is it just a culture that they accept such scandalous behaviors. Nontheless I always questioned myself... As much as I get turned on or enjoy watching such hot babes online (YES I'm a perv... along with all the other millions of men AND WOMEN out there so be quiet!) I always wondered if I'd be able to date any one of em considering their profession.

And example of an OMG... What's she doing in this industry!!!!!! GODESS...the rest is censored lol... (hey come on this is a family lovin blog)

I won't say I'm possesive.. But I kinda get peeved by the idea of sharing puss... So yeah. If the situation ever arises, am I able to really truly put down the past of the woman whom I'm dating?

It'd be a real shame if anyone who dates a porn star simply does it for the sex. Not that I'm against the idea of sex but it was really after reflecting on an earlier relationship that I decided it's more healthy to be in a more... husband and wife sorta relationship.

Museum!!

Today's blog is all about photos!

Went to the museum with status ever changing Mayee (explained later)

Wonderful stuff they are showing. A little less that I expected (cuz i thought there'd be like super many items) but apparently it's already a record breaking figure that the Louvre was loaning out as it is.

On the left is a very nice looking pot and on the right is a freaking old 2000 triple plus year old spoon! Haha crap descriptive skills I still have even after all my art hist lessons.

And the paintings on those little pots were supposed to be... OOOO... the "beginings of animation..." haha.

Now I shall juxtapose dressings from the EAST meets WEST.

Aunty monster finally turned human the last time we met and THIS TIME... Entering the mystical realm of the helen and Greek world, she has once again upgraded herself to be compared to Aphrodite, the Goddess of beauty (I think).

Well I must say the amount of skin exposed was slightly different but oh well.. hahahah....

Date with 3 and a half!

Today was strangely amusing. It started off with me trying to find a date for shopping for Yiz Birthday pressie. Which resulted in a photo spree and from my initial single date with the ever hot aunty monster! turned out to be an enjoyable day with 3 and a half beautiful ladies.

Lol. First to join after aunty monster was Hot momma a.k.a "Helloooo NURSE!" and mini babe ashley the monster buddy. Last but not least we've got Jakhoon extraordinare Miss God Ma a la' drunken hot stuff.

- The first of my hot dates came with a big smile....
JeRmS :"hello aunty monster! How ar..."
and even before the sentence was complete, his head was cleanly bitten off!

- "Emergency! Call the nurse!" Poof! a hot momma and child appeared out of thin air and decided to pose as car show models!

-"we need and alcohol swab quickly!" "Did someone say alcohol?" In the blink of an eye our Chi-indian beauty swept down and devoured the volatile substance

ASHLEY was being so extra adorable today that I had to ask her on a date!

JeRmS:" You wanna go on a date with me?"
Ash: (Shy smile)
Aunt M:" Where would you like to go on a date to?"
Ash:" I want to go on that tree!!"
JeRmS(LOL):"If uncle goes on that tree the tree will break!"

Well due to Ashley's incredibly sensitive tastes on dates, we eventually ended up in the National Library and I carried her around so much that the gals were starting to say that I look just like her father!

Once again aunty monster (currently upgraded to aunty may ee) started the ball rolling and said

Aunt M: "Ashley call him Papa jofa(pet name... long story)"
JeRmS: (thinking sheesh...)
Ashley (hugs my head and goes) :" we're family now!"

I was crushed... She's simply too adorable!!!

Well that more or less concludes my evening and I managed to take the photo above Just as I arrived at Yiz's party. A swatch flik flak I did buy... Wearing she must!.

Tomorrow is the big day!~

I lost my temper today... Well.. It was brief...

Calling and calling I finally gave a loud shout to ask them to get into positions.

Yup tomorrow's the actual competition. Well I wasn't pissed per say, but it seemed like the only way anyone was going to listen and though it worked, I sorta regretted it.

=)

Days and nights of training has bred a new batch of Eagles and once again new friendships are strengthened and forged. Funny how Boon managed to summarize everything in that little speech of his. Cuz I know exactly how it feels to under perform in a competition (at national level), not because you are careless and lousy, but because you were too nervous and weak due to over anxiety.

I do thoroughly love these guys and I'll darn miss the training I have with them.

Put up a good show Eagles!
Go! Fight! Win!

I was doing the banner till 6am this morning till I knocked out on my bed around 7. THanks to our ever ready president eileen who gave me a shcoking wake up call, I managed to grab a cab and be marginally late for class... THANK GOD asian art hist hasnt begun so I managed to get some rest and catch a movie!

not to bad. 3/5 stars on my rating. It had it's highs and lows but unfortunately I'm no big fan of Korean food and no offence but compared to many other cuisines this didn't have teh necessary impact needed for such a film. Other than that it's quite a family kinda show so great for all ages.

Apart from the movie I finally get some rest and managed to youtube....

totally cool artist if you ask me.

More Cheerlead

As the competition gets closer I can feel them getting stressed.

But as much as they do I still feel that they are really getting the hang of things (as am I) which is great! My final (hopefully) major commitment to hall for the year till FOC =)

I'll almost miss the training once its over man...

Hope that these bonds wont be broken so easily after. It was after all, through cheerlead, that I got to know my two best buds in hall. Ma Brother Mike and angela.

3STEPS TO BECOMING A GOOD CHEERLEADER

1. Get good cheap matching shoes!

2. Build up your muscles!!!

3. Get ample rest!!!

Cheerlead competition is on 23rd Dec and hence training has been scheduled to be every evening of the day.

Some ask me is putting all this effort into this team worth it?

I'd say Yes...

What are my expectations? I don't expect to win, hell I don't even expect to end up in the top 3 spots. But I intend to give them a hell of a show and I've damn proud of the team.

Last year we trained endless hours in vain. This year... Everyone comes on their own accord. I don't believe in forcing people to do things. Do it and enjoy it!And that's the valuable lesson that I learnt the hard way. You guys are the happiest thing that has happened to me in hall so far and I'm glad to have met you lot.

Some may say it's too laxed and a loser's way of thinking to believe that it's not all about the end product but the process. However from the amount of effort everyone has put in, the cliche I'd still use is. You're all winners in my eyes.
